JEKYLL & HYDE - THE MUSICAL

The Hills Musical Company is extremely proud to be able to present the South Australian PREMIÉRE of Jekyll & Hyde.

Based on the work by Robert Louis Stevenson, it was conceived for the stage by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn, with the book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Frank Wildhorn.

Jekyll & Hyde is a rousing gothic musical based on the classic tale of good and evil. Murder and chaos run rampant and evil lurks around every corner, but love and virtue put up a strong fight in this engaging thriller.

SOUTH PACIFIC

A new production of one of the greatest Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, "South Pacific", has been announced for a limited season.

Directed and choreographed by Jo-Anne Robinson with musical direction by Guy Noble, this acclaimed new production of "South Pacific" stars John Diedrich as Emile de Beque and Katrina Retallick as Ensign Nellie Forbush.

Presented by Paull Pellarini - Seabiscuit Productions the show features a thirty piece orchestra on stage. This production was first mounted for The Production Company in Melbourne in 2003 and quickly sold out. The show transferred to Sydney in 2004.

"South Pacifc" boasts one of the most popular musical scores ever written, with a string of hit sings including: Some Enchanted Evening, Bali Ha'i, There is Nothing Like a Dame, Younger Than Springtime, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair, I'm in Love With a Wonderful Guy, Honey Bun, Happy Talk, and This Nearly Was Mine.

Set on a Pacific island during World War II a contingent of American sailors and Seabees are waiting for a major battle against Japanese forces. Against this backdrop "South Pacific" tells two love stories. The first between the unsophisticated American nurse Nellie Forbush (a 'cock-eyed optimist') from Little Rock Arkansas and widower Emile de Becque, a liberal minded French plantation owner (with half Polynesian children) and the second, of US Lieutenant Joe Cable's love for the beautiful Tonkinese girl Liat. GREASE - THE ARENA SPECTACULAR

"Grease" is back and Spectacular is the word!

After more than 30 years, "Grease" is still the one that you will want! Arguably one of the most successful and popular musicals of all time, "Grease" is set to return to Australia with an incredible all-star cast in a huge Arena Spectacular show!

"GREASE - The Arena Spectacular" will thrill and delight audiences with an amazing celebrity line-up including Australian music icon John Farnham (as Teen Angel), comedy superstar Magda Szubanski (as Miss Lynch), the sensational Craig McLachlan (as Danny), Neighbours star Natalie Bassingthwaighte (as Sandy), Australian television personality Richard Wilkins (as Vince Fontaine), Human Nature's Toby Allen (as Kenickie), musical theatre sensation Tamsin Carroll (as Rizzo), and Australian Idols Rob Mills (as Johnny Casino) and Courtney Murphy (as Roger). "GREASE - the Arena Spectacular" is produced by SEL & GFO.

"Grease" is the story of Rydell High - where the cars are cool, the ladies are pink, slicked back hair rules and rock 'n' roll is here to stay.

Set in 1950's America, "Grease" tells the story of clean cut Sandy and leather-jacketed greaser Danny Zuko, who experience summer love, and then nearly lose it all in this fun-filled teen-dream extravaganza.

"GREASE" returns to Australia with a cast that is bigger and better than any previous production. I can assure the public that this production will deliver 110% entertainment. It is a major return to family entertainment on a grand scale," said John Frost.

There is little doubt that part of Grease's lasting appeal lies in its soundtrack of smash hit songs including You're The One That I Want, Greased Lightnin', Hopelessly Devoted To You, Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee, Grease, Beauty School Dropout, We Go Together, Sandy, Born To Hand Jive and Summer Nights.

So grab your sweetheart, dust off your leather jacket, poodle skirts and blue suede shoes, and step back in time to experience the new "GREASE - The Arena Spectacular".

Shoah 3 Company

SHOAH - WORLD PREMIERE

Written by South Australians, Chris Backstrom, Ian Gale and Richard Flynn
Director Richard Flynn
Musical Director Ian R. Gale

Beginning in Germany as it prepares for war, Shoah traces the plight of two small Jewish families caught up in the terror that will become known years later as the Holocaust. Essentially, Shoah is a love story - of Simon and Miriam, friend Edith and their families. Timeframe: 1933 to 1945.

They watch as Hitler's intentions for Jews become impossible to ignore. The decisions they take in the face of the growing tide of evil fuel this story of youth, fear, flight, betrayal, capture, incarceration and death in Auschwitz.

Against this however, strands of love and its associated, though difficult, call to forgive bring Shoah to a magnificent, joyous conclusion.
